If you ever find yourself with creative block, here's what works for me. Get yourself a tablet of NewsPrint.
It will be hard to resist those empty pages. Last night I wanted to try some techniques I had been intimidated by. There is this product called magic Mold. Its a block of foam that, when heated, will hold the shape of anything you mold on it. I wanted to create my own background textures. My first attempt was to mold that bubble packaging and see what kind of background I would get...I loved it.
Next I wanted to see what result I would get, molding a cool piece of jewelry depicting a ship...Ohh La La....I was in creative heaven.
I wanted to create textures for the Sorority cutouts. Here's the result for three.
crumbled tissue paper with black soot stamping pad
bracelet and chain with faded blue jeans stamping pad
All and all I had great fun and my creative juices were jump started. Now I am fired up and ready to get the site up and come up with still more creative ideas and videos and share techniques as I stumble across them. I also tried image transfers with gel medium. I will share my result next time.
